Peacock Feather Wedding

I've been inspired by peacock feathers a lot lately. They're so elegant, colorful and unique- I just had to put together an event based on them. This board is specifically for a wedding but take a few certain elements and it would be ideal for a dramatic dinner party or gathering.

Oh Baby! Turquoise & Brown Baby Shower

Welcome to the first Oh Baby! feature. Today's theme was requested by Heather who is in need of inspiration for a turquoise and brown modern/vintage baby shower. Heather, I hope the collection of items above helps with your shower planning!

- Clear Teal Vases - This is a great idea for a centerpiece! Check out your local thrift or antique stores to find vintage vases in clear or in teal. Group together for easy but super attractive table decor.
- Teal and Brown floral table decor - Beautiful teal linens and multitudes of white florals makes this table setting truly come alive. Lots of little details that work together to create a stunning look. (via Jennifer Dery 's blog)
- Gorgeous turquoise chandelier - Though this may be a little too extravagant for a baby shower, try to use the style in other ways - maybe use vintage (or modern) teal beads strung together to decorate the backs of the chairs. (via the amazing Snippet & Ink)
- Brown & Turquoise favor boxes
- Modern turquoise and white cake - Can easily be interpreted into a smaller cake depending on the number of guests (also via Snippet & Ink)
- Turquoise ceramic crackle dinnerware
- Modern baby shower invitation- The tropical turquoise, brown and orange elements of this invitation are fun and modern for a co-ed baby shower.
- Turquoise table decor - Another table decor that infuses deeper browns and orange as an accent color. (via Jennifer Dery's blog)

Wedding Wednesday - Teal & Lime Bridal Shower

It's time for the next edition of Wedding Wednesday, where Kati of The Finer Things and I select one invitation and create two event interpretation. Today we're planning a summertime bridal shower based on this teal palm tree invitation with green envelope from FineStationery.com.

To start I found this lovely green and teal table decor. It features multiple low, square teal vases filled with white and green floral arrangements combined with a striking white coral centerpiece. For each place setting choose a teal charger to make the standard white plate pop.

For dessert keep it simple with a white cake served atop a bright teal cake stand. Add some green leaves or flowers as a garnish to tie in the green from the color scheme. Toast to the happy couple with a brilliant blue cocktail made of vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice and a lemon twist.

As a favor send guests home with a summer bag filled with green and blue accessories such as flip flops, a beach blanket and a sun hat. Top with a white calla lily for an elegant finishing touch.

That's it for my edition of Wedding Wednesday but make sure to check out Kati's post for some wonderful inspiration! I love all the unique ideas she includes this week. Here are two of my favorites...

Teal & Peach Wedding

I was inspired today by this unique teal and peach table decor. This color scheme is fresh and lovely for spring and summer events. You could also use deeper shades of teal and orange to make this combination work for fall.

Teal and Brown Sip and See

Today's post will inspire you to throw a sip and see for the new baby in your life. This theme would also work well for a baby shower. Start with this cute teal and brown bird invitation by simplyput (from FineStationery.com). Have your guests write a little note for your newborn in this teal 3-ring album from Paper Source. Include the baby's photo on the front cover and it will serve as a great keepsake from the event.

This teal and brown paisley dinnerware set is the perfect addition to your decor, especially when used for these adorable cupcakes with teal and white frosting [via Crumbs and Doilies Cupcake Blog]. Lastly, send your guests home with a teal and white striped favor box filled with your favorite candy or treat.
