  1. I bought, on Ebay of all places, a 20 carat citron cocktail ring. I wear it to every party, I just love it! I got such a good deal on it and it is such a great conversation piece. I feel a bit more "dressed" when I wear it.
    Would love those socks!
    Thanks.

  4. I've always thought a hot chocolate bar, with all sorts of fun mix-ins and toppings would be a great way to create a luxurious but cozy atmosphere for an intimate, evening party.

  5. I made favors for a baby shower that turned out oh so cute. They were baby blue candles in votives, wrapped in tulle fabric, tied with a big blue ribbon and attached was a poem that said "Here's a candle for you to light, Once the stork has made its flight. With the flicker of the flame, Say a prayer in the baby's name". Everyone at the shower went home with a candle on behalf of baby and mother.
    Love the striped socks!

  7. I did a party favor of "Jamie's Favorite Things" in a fun little bag that included my favorite package of hot chocolate, Hershey's Kisses, one of my fave books (from my own bookshelf), and a mixed CD with liner notes explaining why I loved each song.

  14. I think it's a luxurious idea to have live music at a party. Once we had a cocktail party and had a harpist playing. People were mesmerized! Love the socks!

  21. These are delightful!

I'm a fan of handknit things myself, and have in the past given away baskets filled with fluffy balls of Debbie Bliss cashmerino yarn along with bamboo needles and instructions for a simple yet cozy scarf.

  22. Too be pampered!
In addition to all of the time I spend planning themed events and parties...I like to make my home life an event for my family, neighbors and friends.
If I had a beautiful basket of these treats, I would place them right inside my front door! So when guests came over, they could remove their shoes, and wear these socks in my house. The coziness may encourage them to stay awhile and enjoy a bottle of wine by the fire!

  26. Here's another idea that links the socks to entertaining: When the weather is bad due to snow or rain, I ask guests to take off their shoes. But I'm a firm believer that if you ask guests to remove their shoes, then you'd better offer them something to put on their feet instead. It's not nice to ask guests to walk around in panty hose ;) I always put a basket of chenille socks by the door so guests have the option to put on some cozy, warm socks if they'd wish. Guests use the socks 9 out of 10 times.
